During the OECD summit in Paris, Mr. Krzysztof Jurgiel, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, met with the Minister of Agriculture of New Zealand, Mr. Nathan Guy.

The main aim of the meeting was to continue the talks with representatives of the top officials of the Ministry of Agriculture of New Zealand on the possible intensification of exports of Polish agri-food products and development of cooperation with regard to agriculture, in particular in the dairy industry, as well as innovative solutions in agricultural management.

The parties expressed their interest in continued cooperation under the Global Research Alliance on Agricultural Greenhouse Gases (GRA).

Minister Jurgiel also emphasised that the consulting centres and research institutes supervised by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development under the Network for Innovation in Agriculture and Rural Areas were interested in joint scientific projects with partners from New Zealand.

Polish Minister of Agriculture informed that Polish producers were becoming increasingly interested in cooperation with their partners from New Zealand, including the planned participation of Polish agri-food producers in Fine Food New Zealand fairs to be held in Auckland in June 2016.

Minister Nathan Guy pointed out that the relations between Poland and New Zealand had recently much developed, considering the many visits and meetings of high-level officials from both countries.
